Currently there are three formal picnic areas that are part of the Trail.  These are located in Central City Park, at the Ocmulgee National Monument visitors center, and at Amerson Water Works Park.  People also enjoy picnicking on the grass along the Trail.  Some of the most popular areas for a blanket picnic include the lawn at Gateway Park, the Spring Street lawn, and the pergola at Rotary Park.  The Atlanta Gas Light Picnic Pavilion at Amerson Water Works Park houses numerous picnic tables, in a beautiful, natural setting.
